Propelled into Wonderland, she travels with Alice changing the outcomes of many scenes from the book.

The Magic Token:
A Journey with Alice in Wonderland

 FIRST PLACE WINNER ...

...of the Florida Writers Association's 2004 Royal Palm Literary Awards for unpublished novels.

It's Walt Disney meets H. G. Wells' Time Machine when Emma Thomas' best friend loses the silver dollar that Emma loaned her for a seventh grade school project. Dana offer's her twelve-year-old friend a replica of a magic token once owned by Charles Dickens. Reluctantly taking it, Emma scoffs at the claims on the magic token package that the famous 19th century author used it to time travel for his book research. During an argument with her younger brother, Emma accidentally wishes herself back to 1862 and joins Alice in Wonderland. Along their journey Emma breaks up the Caucus racers, acts as policewoman for a loud-mouthed Duchess and her pan-throwing cook, trades insults with the pipe-smoking Caterpillar and the grinning Cheshire Cat, disrupts the Queen of Heart's croquet match, stirs the Mad Hatter's tea party into an even madder, madcap, madhouse, and plays defense attorney to try to stop the Queen of Hearts from chopping off Alice's head. Having lost the magic token somewhere in Wonderland, Emma seems trapped in Alice's mad, mad, mad, upside-down world?

The Magic Token 2:
A Journey with Dorothy to Oz

Emma takes her best friend, Dana, who gave her the magic token to begin with, back to 1900 to follow Dorothy through the land of Oz. It seems that Dana has a serious problem. She lacks self-confidence ... much as her kindred spirit the Cowardly Lion does. Though Dana is not seeking help from the Wizard, through Emma's guidance she tries to gain confidence by helping some of the creatures of Oz and standing defiant against to the wicked ones. As the reader travels with Emma, Dana, Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, we discover the adventures in the book of Oz don't always coincide with the motion picture about Dorothy. The 21st century girls, mistaken for sorceresses, change the outcomes of many of the adventures.

The Magic Token 3:
A Journey with Anne of Green Gables

Emma pops in on Anne Shirley on Prince Edward Island. She helps Anne settle in at Green Gables, tries her best to soothe things between Anne and Gilbert Blythe, and helps Anne become bosom friends with Diana while becoming one to Anne herself. Can she keep some of the bad things from the original story from happening, like Anne cracking a slate over Gilbert's head, or Diana getting drunk from drinking currant wine instead of raspberry cordial? And how will Emma get the Cuthberts to allow her to live among them? Emma has a plan ... a most devious plan. Can she make it happen?
