THE HEART OF THE ROMANI

This fiction series concerns real people, real places, real events, and involves a descendant of a Romanian Gypsy immigrant. Set in the modern day Romania, the series jumps to the heart of the Gypsy plight.



BOOK 1: TO BE A GYPSY

This first-in-a-series novel concerns eleven-year-old Sunita Şeaţa who despises being of Gypsy heritage. On the last day of the sixth grade, she comes home to find her father excited about having located a Gypsy cousin in the Transylvania region of Romania. To make matters worse, he wants to take Suni there in a few weeks.

This third-in-a-series novel concerns thirteen-year-old Sunita Şeaţa who accompanies her best friend, Nina Luchnik, in a search for Nina's Gypsy heritage in the Crimean region of the Ukraine.
